Description

Separate subsystems for the upper and lower motorised milling spindles enable full backworking or parallel machining, short travel distances in a clearly arranged work area: With the R series, INDEX is setting the standard for a new generation of turning/milling centres.

Two motorised milling spindles machine in two independent subsystems, even in 5-axis machining. Heavy roughing or high-precision fine turning operations can be carried out simultaneously on the main and counter spindles.

Parallel use significantly increases productivity compared to conventional concepts. New design solutions for optimum rigidity, thermal and dynamic stability and vibration damping also offer the highest machining quality.

Magazine

Motorised milling spindle: 95 Nm concentrated torque
The arrangement of the milling spindles in the centre of the machine bed ensures force transmission via particularly short lever arms. The result is high vibration damping and thus extended tool life.

W-serration
Each motorised milling spindle is equipped with 6 tool positions for stationary turning tools for highly productive machining. The W gear manufacturing ensures maximum repeat accuracy when changing a tool holder.
