Six main spindles, up to two swivelling synchronous spindles, generously dimensioned work area for quick retooling, free chip fall with full tool loading: With the INDEX MS40-6, which can be configured as required, INDEX offers a machine concept that meets all requirements and the highest demands.

The INDEX MS40-6 has been consistently developed for the application of state-of-the-art production technologies. Six main spindles and up to two swivelling synchronous spindles open up unimagined production possibilities. The work area is generously dimensioned and set-up costs can be minimised, especially during retooling, thanks to the free accessibility. Even when fully loaded with tools, free chip fall is guaranteed.

Machine concept

• Freely accessible work area and therefore extremely easy to set up
• Highly dynamic slides with sliding guide (X-axis)
• Wear-free Z-axis thanks to hydrostatically mounted quills
• Open-front machine for bar processing
• Chuck part machining with loading and unloading by robot
• Directed part removal through linear handling
• Extremely fast swivelling synchronous spindles with C-axis
• Swivel arm is locked in the machining position with three-part Hirth gear manufacturing for maximum rigidity
• Max. 6 tools for rear end machining per swivelling synchronous spindle

• Additional reduction in cycle time thanks to the simultaneous production of 2 workpieces
• 10 tool carriers with 1 or 2 axes (optionally also Y-axis)
• 2 swivelling synchronous spindles
• 2 back-boring slides (optional) with 3 tools each, up to 2 of which are driven

With the same expansion stage as a six-spindle machine with simultaneous rear end machining in two spindle positions (see drawing)

• Front-side processing on 4 main spindles
• Simultaneous cut-off-side machining on 2 swivelling synchronous spindles
