Description

Identical main and counter spindles with spindle passage Ø 120 mm, complex 5-axis milling operations, turning lengths up to 2,300 mm, variable machining options: The INDEX G520 is an innovative turning/milling centre in a class of its own - especially when it comes to the efficient production of large workpieces with high complexity and variance.

Based on a rigid and vibration-damping machine bed in mineral-cast block construction and generously dimensioned linear guides in the X and Z axes, this series stands for modern machine construction and therefore for excellent machining results with high productivity.

Three tool carriers with a tool supply of up to 151 tools offer maximum flexibility for the complete machining of complex workpieces. A total of up to 14 productive axes ensure convincing work results without exception. The large work area, which is unique in this class, impresses with sophisticated equipment features that enable simultaneous machining with all three tool carriers without collisions.

The vertically sloping interior panelling ensures optimum chip fall. The chip conveyor can be mounted on the right or left, depending on customer requirements.

The INDEX G520 stands for the production of a wide range of products in many industries such as mechanical engineering, automotive and aerospace.

Complete machining from the modular system
The modular system of this series offers a wide range of options. Up to 3 tool carriers can be integrated into the work area. The work area offers ample space for processing all types of workpieces. The work area can accommodate parts up to a length of 1,600 / 2,300 mm. The powerful main and counter spindles are designed for bar diameters up to Ø 120 mm and for chucked parts up to Ø 500 mm. Turret steady rests are available for machining long or shaft-shaped parts.

The INDEX G520 is equipped with a powerful motorised milling spindle and is therefore able to perform 5-axis machining operations simultaneously. Great importance was attached to the ergonomic set-up and operating concept in the new development. All relevant components are easily accessible for operating and maintenance personnel.

The modular iXcenter robot cell is available for all machines in this series for the flexible feeding and removal of raw and finished parts.

iXpanel
The iXpanel operating concept opens up access to networked production.

With iXpanel, all relevant information for efficient production is available to the employee at all times directly at the G520 turning/milling centre. iXpanel is already included as standard and can be individually expanded. You can use iXpanel as you wish for your company organisation - Industry 4.0 made to measure.
